ABOUT US
We are a youth-led nonprofit teaching free chess and math lessons; meet the co-founders and the volunteer teachers making it happen. Across all age grade levels, schools, and cities, we come together to spread the love of chess and math.
OUR STORY
Hi! We are co-founders Liam Kojuharov (15) and Dahlia Kojuharova (12). As we grew up, we developed a passion for our respective interests: chess and math.
We created Moves² to teach free lessons to children at the Larchmont Public Library while raising money for Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, NY. Since launching in January 2025, we’ve raised hundreds of dollars and hope to raise thousands more.
We’re now expanding our teacher base and reaching more locations across the New York Metro area. Through free chess and math lessons, we hope to inspire young people of all ages to discover a love for these subjects.
LEADERSHIP
Hi! I'm Liam, a 10th grader at Horace Mann School in the Bronx, NY, and a competitive chess player with a peak USCF rating of 1950. I am the vice-captain of my school's chess team and have placed top 10 at regional, state, national, and even international chess tournaments. Outside of chess, I enjoy playing piano and violin, and tennis.

Hi! I'm Dahlia, a rising 7th grader at Horace Mann School in the Bronx, NY. I am passionate about math because opens doors to seeing patterns everywhere, and that's very exciting! I also enjoy playing violin, tennis, and learnign foreign languages.

OUR TEAM
The dedicated volunteers who give their time to teach the next generation of chess and math lovers.
Marco is a freshman at White Plains High School in White Plains, NY, with a peak USCF rating of 1990. Outside of school, he plays piano and cello and enjoys competition math.
Age 14 • 9th grade • Chess teacher
Mikey is a sophomore at Horace Mann School in NYC, with a peak USCF rating of 1760. Outside of school, he loves making music and skiing.
Age 15 • 10th grade • Chess teacher
Robert is a sophomore at Horace Mann School in NYC. He has a peak USCF rating of 1400 and is an avid coder and tennis player.
Age 15 • 10th grade • Chess teacher
Josh is a sophomore at Horace Mann School in NYC with a peak Chess.com rating of 1700. Aside from chess, he loves swimming and cooking.
