OUR STORY
Hi! We are co-founders Liam Kojuharov (15) and Dahlia Kojuharova (12). Over the past couple of years as we were growing up and our interest took shape, we developed a passion for our respective interests — chess and math.
We created Moves² to teach lessons to children at the Larchmont Public Library and raise money for the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla, NY. Since our debut in January 2025, we've raised hundreds of dollars and are seeking to raise thousands more.
Currently, we are looking to grow our teacher base and expand to many more locations, to better spread the love of chess and math. By teaching free lessons across the New York Metro area, we hope to encourage enthusiasm for these subjects among youth of all ages.
WHY CHESS?
Put simply, chess is good for your brain. It helps develop critical thinking skills and creativity under pressure. What started as curiosity about a seemingly simple game turned into a passion we want to share with others.
— Liam, Chess Lead
WHY MATH?
Math opens doors to seeing patterns everywhere. From solving puzzles to understanding the world around us, math builds a foundation of logical thinking that lasts a lifetime — and it's a lot of fun!
— Dahlia, Math Lead
